Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Primrose School of Kingwood, located at 2311 Green Oak Drive, Kingwood, Texas 77339

In this role, you will help four-year-old children explore, discover, and understand the world around them while preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and nurturing teacher to plan and implement engaging classroom activities that support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development. Our teachers follow the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning.

Primrose School of Kingwood is an accredited private preschool offering a premier educational childcare experience. We provide year-round programs for children from infancy through elementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities

  •  Provide attentive supervision and manage the daily activities of a Pre-Kindergarten classroom. 
  •  Implement approved lesson plans and maintain the daily classroom schedule using the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum. 
  •  Assess and document each child’s developmental progress on an ongoing basis. 
  •  Partner with the Leadership Team to conduct student evaluations and parent-teacher conferences. 
  •  Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized classroom that encourages children to explore, create, and make decisions with confidence. 
  •  Provide children with positive recognition, encouragement, and clear, consistent behavioral expectations. 
  •  Follow all Primrose policies and local, state, and federal regulations concerning the health, safety, supervision, and care of children. 
  •  Assist with the care and upkeep of the classroom, common areas, and playground. 
  •  Attend required staff meetings, professional-development workshops, and school functions. 
  •  Maintain a professional appearance and follow the standards outlined in the Primrose School of Kingwood Employee Handbook. 
  •  Assist in other areas as requested by the Director or Leadership Team. 
Qualifications

  •  Must meet all requirements established by the local childcare licensing agency. 
  •  Previous teaching or assistant-teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred. 
  •  Must understand the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative needs of young children. 
  •  Must be dependable, professional, nurturing, and able to work effectively as part of a teaching team. 
  •  Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds when assisting children, implementing classroom activities, or responding to safety and emergency situations. 
  • Pre-Kindergarten Teachers are preferred to have a four-year degree in early childhood education or a related field.
